9/10

Did the staff respond quickly to any inquires?
Yes

How were the other residents? How was the atmosphere?
The French students mainly kept to themselves in groups, but other foreign students were very friendly.

Parties? Get togethers?
No

How was the neighborhood?
Grand Place is quite a rough neighborhood. I'm pretty sure I heard gun shots twice. I never had any actual trouble but I was nervous to live in a place like that. I felt safe in the residence, but getting the last tram home on my own was never something I wanted to do, and I didn't feel I could wear certain things for fear of being made a target. Also, I seemed to live a lot further from the centre/my university that others in my class but the tram service is very good so I cold get into the centre very easily. I believe the location is quite good for Architecture students however, as the university is right next to Grand Place tram station.

Would you recommend the residence?
Only as a starting point. I would recommend you live in a residence for maybe a month while you find an apartment. Otherwise I would perhaps choose another more sociable residence. However, the cost is very low so if you need somewhere cheap to live then perhaps this is your best bet.
